Calling all Party Pals....
We currently need PARTY PALS for the following special birthdays:
1. A boy who will be turning 6 years old on August 11th
2. A girl who will be 9 years old on September 16th
3. A boy who will be SWEET 16 years old on October 11th
4. A boy who will turn 15 on October 20th
5. A little boy will turn 4 years old on October 21st
6. A boy who will turn 7 on October 22nd
7. A little girl turns 3 on October 23rd
One of the really neat ways to get involved with Angels' Arms is to become a Party Pal for one or more of the foster children to help in celebrating their birthday.
What does it mean to be a Party Pal? Every Party Pal is different, but the ultimate goal is to make the child feel special for his or her birthday.
If you are interested in volunteering to become a Party Pal, contact Tricia at 314.726.6899 and she will assign you to a child. Once assigned, Tricia will send you all of the birthday guidelines in the mail with suggestions, the name of the child, foster parents, contact information, address, and so forth.
It always varies as to what the volunteer wants to do for the child's birthday, depending on both the child's and Party Pal's interests. Some great examples for birthday parties are the following:
- A day at Incredible Pizza, Chuckey Cheese, or the Nascar Speedpark
- Plan a Spa Party for a teenage girl
- A swimming party or dinner & a movie
- Gather a group of the child's friends for an afternoon at the Science Center, Butterfly House, or Magic House
- Donate a gift card to a restaurant for the family to take the child to dinner for his or her birthday
OR You may want to donate the birthday cake, decorations, gifts, etc. for the parents to throw the birthday party at their home for the child. It is completely up to you!
