Road Trip with the Clarks
Ben and Debbie Clark, foster parents at our Ballwin home, took their family on a couple incredible summer vacations.
In May the family went to a Pow Wow in Columbia, Missouri where they enjoyed the Native American cultural experience, including lots of great music and dancing. They spent two nights at the Pow Wow and then travled to Jelly Stone Park where they stayed another three facinating nights.
At Jelly Stone Park, the kids participated in an array of exciting activities: train rides, meeting Yogi Bear, crafts, magic shows, swimming, smores roast, and a light stick parade. The Clarks explained to us that Jelly Stone Park is very generous and welcoming to foster families and that they truly had an amazing time.

In June, the Clark family traveled to Pines Bluff, Wyoming for an old-fashioned rodeo. They also made a stop in Denver and then kept driving until they reached South Dakota where they saw the Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore.
While in South Dakota, the foster parents and kids took a two hour train ride on an authentic 1880 steam engine and visited the Badlands, which they said was a spectacular sight to see. The family also saw a multitude of animals, from deer and antelopes to skunks and wild buffalo.
Debbie Clark said that overall they had a wonderful time and saw many amazing things that will become lasting memories for some of the children in the home.
